For the Iraq and Afghanistan theatre I was responsible for the creation of a large, free flowing, non-linear multiplayer set in a city called Al Hillah. For this level I wanted to step away from the expected Iraq scenario of a flat city with expansive roads and a mosque as the major landmark. So I created an environment revolving around a large shopping center and commercial district. This provided quite a challenge as all the current art assets were designed and catered towards your typical Iraq theme. So i created assets seen in the interior mall section, underground car park and a bazaar section and in doing so was able to create a unique feeling environment while staying true to the games setting
